The German Sd.Kfz.6 5-ton Halftrack was used to tow almost the same guns as the Sd.Kfz.11 such as the 10.5cm le.FH 18. Although it began production on 1935, it was quickly realised that it sort of fell down a gap in the middle, in terms of usefulness, in that it was far more powerful than needed to tow these sized guns, but not powerful enough to tow larger artillery pieces, and for this reason production was soon discontinued and instead less powerful and more powerful vehicles were produced. This version was fitted with the more powerful Maybach HL54 Tukrm 6 cylinder petrol engine as opposed to the Maybach NL35 originally fitted to these vehicles.
