"Marder" 3M is the last self-propelled anti-tank gun transformed by Germany using the 38(t) tank chassis in World War II. The main weapon is still the 75mm PaK 40 anti-tank gun. Compared with the previous weasel series, the shape has changed significantly, with a more low profile, sloping armor, and multifunctional fighting compartment. The engine was moved from the rear to the middle of the driver and fighting compartment, and the gun and crew were installed in the rear of the vehicle without top protection. Compared to previous models, the combat compartment is lowered to the level of the chassis floor, reducing occupant exposure and detection. Unlike the previous two Weasel III tanks, the rear of the fighting compartment is closed, and the crew position is only on the vehicle's engine. The M model maintains an open fighting compartment arrangement and can only carry 27 rounds. The course machine gun of the chassis was canceled, and the self-defense weapon was the MG34 or MG42 machine gun carried by the crew.
