The M113 can be considered one of the most famous APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier) in history. It was developed between the late 1950s and early 1960s with the specific purpose of being able to transport a fully armed and equipped infantry squad with a good level of protection as close as possible to the area of ​​operations. In addition to the tactical transfer of the infantry squad, the M113 could offer close support to the troops with the support of the weapons supplied to the vehicle which, in the early versions, was limited to a 12.7 mm Browning M2 machine gun. Used for the first time in Vietnam, it became one of the most widespread armoured vehicles in the world, with over 80,000 units produced. Reliable and robust, with good performance on all types of terrain, it was used, in its various variants, by numerous armed forces.
