>Soviet 76-mm anti-tank gun ZiS-3 was developed during 1941. In February of 1942 it was officially adopted for Red army service. Mass production of this gun began in the same year. ZiS-3 was capable of piercing armor of a majority of German light and medium tanks. The gun was also noted for its reliability and durability. ZiS-3 guns were also easy in manufacturing, and vast numbers of these guns could be produced in short amount of time. In fact, the total amount of ZiS-3 guns produced during World War II is slightly less than 50000.
